Danielle San Filippo Joins the Barbara McDowell Social Justice Center as Director of Development

The Barbara McDowell Social Justice Center welcomes Danielle San Filippo as Director of Development. She brings extensive experience in nonprofit leadership and strategic development and will support the Center in building the relationships and resources that advance its mission and deepen its impact.

Danielle brings over fifteen years of experience in nonprofit leadership, strategic development, organizational change management, and board stewardship to her role as Director of Development with the Barbara McDowell Social Justice Center. She has helped mission-driven organizations turn ambitious vision into measurable impact and has worked with organizations to build partnerships, programs, and strategies that catalyze lasting social, economic, and environmental change.

Danielle also volunteers with local food equity organizations and early childhood education initiatives in her hometown of Asheville, NC.

Danielle holds an MBA and an MA in Sustainable Food Systems from Chatham University, an Equity and Inclusion Leadership Certificate from Cornell University, and is pursuing her Change Management Professional Certificate with the Association of Change Management Professionals.

Reflecting on her work with the Center, Danielle shared:

I am honored to be supporting the mission of the Barbara McDowell Social Justice Center to eradicate systemic injustices through high-impact litigation, education, advocacy, and grantmaking. I look forward to building relationships that will enable the Center to provide high- quality legal representation in social justice cases to underserved and underrepresented communities across the country.
