Advocacy
Beyond impact litigation, the Center advances systemic reform through targeted advocacy. Recent efforts include filing on December 18, 2025, Public Comments in strong opposition to the Department of Homeland Security’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking regarding the Public Charge Rule that sets forth the grounds for inadmissibility of immigrants to the United States that were consistent with the Trump Administration’s views that will deter eligible families from accessing healthcare, nutrition, and housing assistance, Similarly, on September 16, 2025, formal comments were submitted to the United States Department of Education opposing proposed changes to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
We do not engage in direct or grassroots lobbying as a substantial part of our activities, nor do we participate in, or intervene in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office. No part of our net earnings will inure the benefit of any private shareholder or individual.
