Board of Directors
Pam Sullivan, Board Member
Pam Sullivan has 38 years of experience managing spaceflight projects and programs at NOAA, NASA, and the USAF. She is known within the space community for her leadership on large, complex missions including the James Webb Space Telescope and NOAA’s flagship weather satellite programs. Retired from the federal government in 2025, Sullivan was most recently NOAA’s Director of Geostationary Earth Orbit Observations, where she led the development and commissioning of the world’s most advanced satellites for weather and environment monitoring. Before joining NOAA in 2018, Sullivan spent 27 years developing 21 different satellites for NASA. Early in her career, Sullivan was an officer in the U.S. Air Force working on the Space Shuttle. The missions Pam has supported have explored the role of humans in space; expanded our understanding of the Earth, Sun, and universe; and protected humankind from dangerous weather and environmental conditions.
In retirement, Pam is continuing her public service by contributing to organizations promoting science, community, justice, and democratic values.
Pam received a Bachelor of Science degree from M.I.T. She is a five-time recipient of NASA’s Outstanding Leadership Medal, and has been recognized with the Presidential Rank Distinguished Executive Award.
