2026 Special Impact Litigation Grantees Announced
The Barbara McDowell Social Justice Center is proud to announce the first two grantees selected through its inaugural Special Impact Litigation Program (SILP), a new initiative designed to support strategic litigation that advances social justice and addresses systemic inequities.
Following a competitive national application process, the Center selected two organizations whose work exemplifies the power of impact litigation to protect fundamental rights and create lasting change.
Americans for Immigrant Justice (AI Justice) is a nonprofit law firm dedicated to protecting and promoting the basic human rights of immigrants. Through the Special Impact Litigation Program, the Center is supporting AI Justice’s broader impact litigation strategy to safeguard due process and constitutional rights for immigrant communities in Florida and across the country.
The Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center advances human rights through advocacy and strategic litigation aimed at holding governments accountable both domestically and internationally. The Center’s grant will support litigation challenging an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) policy.
Additional details regarding both cases will be announced shortly. We are honored to partner with these exceptional organizations as we launch the Special Impact Litigation Program and expand our efforts to advance justice through strategic litigation.
