George Mykulak Joins the Barbara McDowell Social Justice Center as Senior Litigation Director
The Barbara McDowell Social Justice Center proudly welcomes George Mykulak as its new Senior Litigation Director beginning on July 2, 2025. George comes to the Center through the Massachusetts Access to Justice Fellows Program.
George brings over 40 years of distinguished experience as a first-chair trial and appellate attorney, having practiced at leading American Lawyer 100 and 200 firms including Quarles & Brady, Nelson Mullins, and WilmerHale. His litigation portfolio spans a wide range of complex commercial matters—from franchise and e-commerce disputes to shareholder, bankruptcy, and real estate litigation—in courts and arbitration venues across the country.
George’s career also includes representing major internet platforms on critical issues involving Section 230 immunities and online safety. He has been widely recognized for his excellence in business and franchise litigation, earning honors such as Senior Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, inclusion in Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA, Super Lawyers by Thomson Reuters, and the AV® Preeminent™ rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
In addition to his litigation work, George has maintained a deep commitment to public service and pro bono advocacy. He is the former President and Director of the Lawyers Clearinghouse on Affordable Housing and Homelessness, a two-term Hearing Officer for the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers, a member of the Massachusetts SJC Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Services, and a contributor to the national Clemency Project 2014.
George earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his law degree from Boston College Law School. A former college baseball player, he remains a loyal and passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox.
We are thrilled to have George’s leadership, experience, and passion for justice to guide our litigation efforts as we pursue the Center’s mission of advancing systemic social justice change through strategic legal action.
